Traditional freshmen face a number of changes when transitioning to college. New learning environment, new living environment, new peers and new expectations from family. College is a new and exciting experience that provides the enrichment needed to build a successful long-term career. Unfortunately, in some instances, this experience may also be marred by stress, conflict and emotional confusion.
The Psychology Department and PACE will be hosting a freshmen forum where issues related to freshmen adjustment will be discussed. Included topics will be time management, social conflict, study habits and stress. The discussion will include a panel of freshmen there to engage the audience in what will be an open and honest discussion about the freshmen transition.
The discussion will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. in room UC327 of the James M. Baker University Center. Light refreshments will be provided.
