Interfaith Leadership Ambassador Program, ILAP Applications Now Available
Attention Clayton State Students:
Did you know that interfaith dialogue and actions are responsible for 1/3 of the political decisions made in the world?
Did you know that religious diversity is one of the top five most attractive qualities to 97 percent of the world’s top employers?
Did you know that colleges and universities provide the most religiously diverse environment in the world?
Rather you answered yes or no to the above questions, how prepared are you to exceed in today’s increasingly religiously diverse society? The Interfaith Leadership Ambassador Program (ILAP) here at Clayton State University will equip Clayton State students with the skills to engage diverse religious and non-religious identities to build a community of respect and mutually inspiring relationships.
Following the mission and goals of the Interfaith Youth Core, IFYC, a national organization affiliated with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, the White House, and the Office of Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, ILAP will provide opportunities for participants to will acquire skills and knowledge to address issues of values, ethics, and morality through the examination of interactions of faith and non-faith engagements.
ILAP will consist of five-one hour sessions beginning Sept. 9 through Nov. 11 and ending with an award pinning ceremony on Nov. 20.
Interested Clayton State students must complete and submit the ILAP Fall 2014 application by Tuesday, Sept. 2. Applications can be retrieved from the Campus Life administrative suite (SAC Suite 223) or accessed from the ILAP website http://www.clayton.edu/campus-life/Multicultural/ILAP . Selected participants will be notified by Sept. 4.
Upon completion of the program, participants will become Interfaith Leadership Ambassadors able to contribute to a campus interfaith movement built on religious pluralism characterized by respect for people’s diverse religious and non-religious identities; mutually inspiring relationships between people of different backgrounds, and common action for the common good. Participants will also become members of the We Are O.N.E. Interfaith Council and active participants in the President’s Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge.
